The Met Gala is the premiere fashion event of the year. Every year has a theme and this year’s theme “Gilded Glamour” did not disappoint! Seeing how the theme is interpreted by different celebrities is the best part of the red carpet where we see looks that go anywhere from traditional formal wear to outlandish costumes. See all of the looks from the 2022 Met Gala red carpet here.
Our favorite part of the night was the amount of stars sporting looks that were not brand new. Leading the charge was Louis Vuitton with 14 ambassadors and friends of the house all dressed in archive or previously worn Louis Vuitton designs for the event. On one of the biggest and most closely watched nights of the year for fashion – an industry traditionally obsessed with the new – it was a powerful statement of intent that reflects the house’s commitment to circular creativity, as well as the personal convictions of its artistic director. Emma Stone shopped in her own closet and rewore her wedding gown. Did you recognize the dress Kim Kardashian was wearing? It was last worn by Marilyn Monroe while singing happy birthday to JFK in 1962. *Kim only wore the original dress to walk the red carpet and then changed into a replica. Take a look at the moments that championed sustainable fashion.
